Saturday football

There’s no early game today and, quite honestly, little to whet the appetite in the 3.00 o’clock kick-offs. If results and scores go our way, we could end the day in 10th. Dream on.
CHELSEA vs LEICESTER CITY Should be a routine outing for Chelsea as they continue to battle Man U for second place. Leicester’s current form belies their poor early season form, and their focus these days is firmly on what is above. Home win.
CRYSTAL PALACE vs BURNLEY Burnley have slipped from their top four spot just last month, but still lead the chasing pack. Palace’s revival under Roy Hodgson is little short of spectacular. Certs for the drop for early season crystal ball gazers, their form has been exceptional. Form and confidence could play a big part today - as could injuries. Draw.
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN vs WEST HAM UNITED At the start of the season, not many would have had Huddersfield in 11th position in January. But David Wagner will be well aware that they’re also just four points from the drop zone, with a squad that will be stretched by the exertions of a full Premier League season. We go into this in excellent league form and should see Marco Arnautovic back in the starting line-up. Winston Reid looks set to join Cresswell in the treatment room, so defence will be a priority. This one’s there for the taking and we have the players to come away with all the points. Away win.
NEWCASTLE UNITED vs SWANSEA CITY This meeting of Iberian management is also one between two nervous looking sides. Newcastle haven’t won at home since October, while Swansea are rock bottom and finding goals hard to come by. Carlos Carvalhal came out with some Cantona-esque nonsense about boats and fish in the run-up to this game, but you feel that even lyrical licence won’t help them today. Home win.
WATFORD vs SOUTHAMPTON Will Southampton be the next club looking for a new manager? Their recent slide down the table has seen them stay out of the drop zone on goal difference only and that will concern their fans and board alike. Watford, although in 10th spot, have been dismal in recent weeks, having lost six of their last seven league games. Who’s to say it might not be them looking for a new manager ere long? There’s no Charlie Austin for the Saints, who will have to battle to get anything today. Draw.
WEST BROMWICH ALBION vs BRIGHTON & HOVE ALBION Who’d be a Baggy? West Brom are winless in their last 20 games – yes, 20 – while Brighton have fought hard for their current lower-mid-table position. There’s little to inspire the neutral here. Draw.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR vs EVERTON (1730 ko) BFS returns to London with a team displaying the kind of inspirational performances he’s become known for. But will the Toffee Bus be enough to thwart Kane and Son for 90 minutes? Unlikely. Home win.

That's why the premiership is the best in in the world.
Both of these clubs have a chance of winning the champions league although Liverpool need a decent keeper.

Stones made a clumsy mess of a tackle v Bristol City in the week Stonewall pen Has talent but he is a bit tepid to me Certainly has nowhere near the natural talent on the ball as Rio.

To be fair to Stones that's probably the first mistake seen him make this season but he has to be stronger there against the human can opener

The way Arsenal are going in 6th they won’t make the Champions League even if an English team wins it this season and gains a 5th spot. With Sanchez and Ozil leaving as well it will put them way down the pecking order for the players they need to challenge again. They are whining enough now so God knows what they will do when they become also rans.

What is more evident than ever these days is that 1 or 2 real top players can make the difference in a game. Arsenal without Sanchez and Ozil will be also ran's, they will never replace them. Good.

Bournemouth have looked pretty crap aside from scoring the two goals and beating the Arse, who look even more woeful today. We should be looking to take this lot apart next week.
